Great Beginnings

I've been wanting to start a blog to keep family & friends updated with The Gainer's happenings.  So, here's to the beginning of a new year!

First, I'd like to back date for just a minute....

We were thrilled to tell our families at the end of October that we were expecting!  Both Jamie and I were overwhelmed with emotion!

My first dr. appt. was mid October - (9 weeks 2 days) My check up went well.  The dr. gave me a due date of May 23, 2012.  Wow, couldn't be more perfect!  Summer vacation begins May 18th.  Hopefully I will be able to make it through the end of the school year.

My second appt. was mid November - (13 weeks 2 days) We heard the heartbeat of our sweet little miracle (161 bpm).  This was definately music to our ears!

My third appt. was end of December 28th. (19 1/2 weeks) 
We found out that we are having a GIRL !!  Jamie & I were both shocked .... I had the "feeling" that it was a little boy and Jamie was desperately wanting a little huntin' buddy!  So, needless to say, most or our 'planning' for this bundle of joy revolved around boy names, bedding and boy toys!

That night, we ate dinner in Camden with our families to give them our exciting news.  To begin our meal, each family member was given a cupcake topped with a ? mark.  Everyone took a bite at the same time, only to discover that the cupcake was filled with pink icing inside!  Much to our amazement, our families had the same experience we did! Everyone was thrilled, but shocked at the same time.  We enjoyed a nice meal with much talk about our little girl's arrival!

Everyone can not wait to meet our little miracle, Kennedy Ellen Gainer, at the end of May!
