Pinterest!

I've been keeping myself busy with projects for Kennedy's nursery the last few weeks before her arrival.  One of my good friends, Beth, has been a huge help! Or should I say, she has been doing 90% of the work!!??!!

It seems like I find the projects I want to do, and she executes the plan!  I know you're probably thinking ... what a great friend, huh?  Well, you're definitely right! I don't know what I'd do without her.  I must also give her husband, Danny and my hubby credit for helping, too!

Project #1: Old Window Restoration

Kennedy's window

Thank you, Danny, for finding the old 6 pane window and thanks to Jamie for restoring it, giving it the distressed look!  I added fabrics from Kennedy's bedding into the window.  I can't wait to get some pictures printed to give it the finished look!

Project #2: Lampshade Up-Do

I bought a simple floor lamp for Kennedy's nursery. Beth & I sewed strips of fabric to make ruffles and added them to the shade!

Project #3: No Sew Curtain

Kennedy's curtain

This curtain orginally began as a fitted bed sheet.  We folded the sheet over the curtain rod and ribbon was used to tie it up into the curtain. Cute bows were added for the finishing touch!

Project #4: Closet Dividers

Kennedy's closet dividers

I must say I loved this idea when I saw it but never realized how time consuming it would be to create these closet dividers.  These dividers definitely make it easier to organize Kennedy's closet.  Beth & her daughter, Gracie, created these by modge podgeing scrapbook paper onto the wooden dividers (found at Michael's).  A cricuit cutter was used to make the numbers and a bow was added for the finishing touch!

Project #5: Hospital Favors

Kennedy's favors

I made these cute favors as I was anxiously awaiting Kennedy's arrival.  Each time visitors came to see us, we would give them some "hugs & kisses" from Kennedy.

So, have I inspired you to check out Pinterest yet?  It is one of my favorite websites.  It is essentially a virtual pinning board.  You are able to search for ideas of any magnitude.  Then, you organize your boards and "pin" your ideas for future reference.  I'm constantly finding new projects that I want to complete!

To conclude this long post, I would like to say THANK YOU (once again) to Beth, Danny, and Jamie for making these projects a reality!

  1. I like the closet dividers! I may need to do seasonal ones for Mae- she has a tendency to choose fall dresses to wear these days. Congrats on your sweet baby girl---enjoy your summer!
